Pay your council housing or temporary accommodation rent, get information about when rent is due, and find out what to do if you’re finding it difficult to pay.
It’s very important that you pay your rent on time. If you’re struggling, please contact your Rent Arrears Recovery Officer or the contact centre to see how we can help.

Make sure you have your rent or service charge reference number when paying. Keep any receipts you receive as proof of the payment.
Setting up a direct debit is the easiest way to pay your rent, and most people pay their rent this way. You can set it up for the sixth of the month or every fortnight on a Monday.

If you need to change your direct debit instruction, contact your Rent Arrears Recovery Officer.
You can pay online by debit or credit card using Mastercard, Visa, Visa Debit and Maestro.
You’ll need your 8 digit account number to complete the payment, which you can find on your bill.

Call 0345 359 1111 and follow the voice prompts to enter payment and card details using your telephone keypad.

If you give the wrong account number your payment may be delayed or not reach us at all.
If your bank declines the payment, we will not be able to tell you that the payment has been refused. Check your account to ensure the payment has left.
If your bank refuses the payment you will need to pay by another method or speak to your bank to sort out the issue.

Your rent payment can be made at any post office – cash and debit cards are accepted. Take your plastic swipecard with you.
You can use one of the Payzone terminals found in many stores to pay your rent. Take your plastic swipecard with you.
