Join the KRiSP is the Kingston residents’ independent scrutiny panel which provides a way for tenants to have a say in how their homes are managed and services are delivered.
What is KRiSP?
Following the changes to Housing Regulation brought about by the Government in 2023, there is a requirement for resident-led scrutiny of housing services. A new proposed emphasis is expanding this on consumer standards, involving active regulation of Local Authority Landlords and resident-led activities to influence and scrutinise their landlord’s strategies, policies and services.
Who are KRiSP
KRiSP is the Kingston residents’ independent scrutiny panel. Our resident scrutiny provides a way for tenants to have a say in how their homes are managed and services are delivered. It can involve a small group of tenants and leaseholders working together to:
- identify issues that affect tenants
- make recommendations for improvements
- monitor the progress of agreed action plans
- encourage other tenants to get involved
The aims of Kingston Scrutiny panel are:
- directly involving Council tenants and leaseholders in helping to shape our housing policies and priorities
- helping make sure housing services are of the highest standard and quality and good value for money
- scrutinise housing services' key performance indicators, identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for appropriate remedies and interventions.
- monitor progress on the (Tenant Satisfaction Measures) TSM
- review underperforming services on their KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and data provided.
- prioritise work on services which show low tenant satisfaction evidenced through the TSM
Reviews are considered by housing management and presented to the Strategic Housing Services Group, where an action plan is shared for recommended changes and improvements to the service through resident input.
