Tree planting
Find information about our annual winter tree planting programme which aims to boost biodiversity, while safeguarding the borough's natural surroundings.
Tree planting 2022 - 2023
Over 500 new trees were planted across the borough between November 2022 and March 2023. We would like to thank the residents who took the time to give their thoughts on planting locations.
Our trees are always planted in the winter months when they are dormant, as this increases survival rates. When a tree is removed, it may not be possible to immediately replace a tree in that exact location, or it may take some time to plant another tree. We are committed to protecting the borough’s biodiversity therefore suitable vacant pits on streets are added to a planting list for future planting schemes.
