Retrofit is about making improvements to your home to make it more energy efficient. Energy efficiency improvements which can help to reduce energy bills and make it easier to keep your home at a comfortable temperature.
This often includes improving the insulation of walls, floors, roofs and lofts and upgrading windows and doors. This may also include upgrading your heating and hot water system and installing energy efficient lighting in your home. The higher the energy efficiency of your home, the lower your overall energy use will be.
Making energy efficiency improvements should be considered when making wider home improvements. Costs are likely to be reduced as works are already being carried out on the property.
Keeping homes warm and regularly ventilated with fresh air will help to create a healthier environment.
