Tell us what you think of the website
Welcome to your brand new Council website. This is a beta version, not yet live to residents. We'd love to know what you think.
Get unwanted items in good condition collected from your address for free.
We’ve partnered with local charities to offer a convenient way to donate unwanted furniture, clothes, textiles, and small electricals.
This service is available to all households, including flats, and allows you to book a free collection on a day that suits you.
The charities will not take broken or damaged items they cannot reuse or resell (except for TRAID who will take damaged textiles and small electricals).
Take items in poor condition to the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre or book a bulky waste collection.
Sue Ryder provides valuable services to those reaching the end of their life and support to those who are grieving.
Items collected from residents will be taken to nearby Sue Ryder shops and sold to raise funds to provide ongoing support to those in need.
You can donate:
Before making a booking, check which items cannot be collected by Sue Ryder. Only donate items which can be reused.
Book a Sue Ryder collection or call 03330 031 883.
TRAID raises money for funds and resources to reduce the environmental and social impacts of clothing. They also fund international development projects to improve conditions and working practices in the textile industry.
You can donate:
You can book a collection for a minimum of 1 large bag or 3 small bags of clothing. TRAID encourages residents to donate more than the minimum amount as this helps the charity to deliver a more efficient service.
Any items that are not good enough to be passed on will be recycled by TRAID. Make sure textiles are not dirty, greasy or oil-stained before donating.
Book a TRAID collection or call 020 8733 2595.
As part of our partnership, TRAID are running a series of workshops to help you reduce waste and preserve the use of your clothing, textiles and electricals. These workshops are an opportunity for you to learn new skills which you can apply at home to help you save money and reduce waste. Dates for the next event will be posted here and via our communications channels so please watch out for this.
Little Lives UK collects household goods to donate directly to families and children in need. Clothes are also donated to local councils, schools and local refugee centres.
