Spotlight on the next generation of filmmakers

Find out about the Kingston International Film festival (KIFF), including the premiere of a new film and film score created by school children in the borough in collaboration with Ciné Schools.

Working with partners to enhance the lively cultural calendar in Kingston is an important aspect of the Kingston 2025 programme. Kingston International Film (KIFF) showcases talent over a glittering three day event each year which welcomes industry professionals and Academy Award winners. During the 2025 festival (6-8 June) we premiered a new film and film score created by school children in the borough in collaboration with Ciné Schools.

The new Kingston 2025 commission enables young people to express their visions through the powerful medium of film. This was just part of the UK’s largest children’s international film festival this year, running alongside the KIFF in June. These events support and celebrate the UK film industry and opportunities to nurture creativity and budding filmmakers.
