Find the costs for music lessons, instrument hire, and studio hire and pay online, and find out if you can get help with fees.
Below are prices for music lessons provided by Kingston Music Service from September 2025. Prices will rise each academic year. Unless stated, prices are for ten lessons per term. You can view our term dates online.
Please note: We are unable to accept childcare vouchers since we provide tuition, not childcare.
One-to-one 20 minutes (for beginners):
One-to-one 30 minutes (for intermediate):
One-to-one 40 minutes (for advanced):
Paired (two pupils) 30 minutes:
Small group (3-4 pupils) 30 minutes:
Group lesson (5–8 pupils) 30 minutes:
If your child has taken part in the Wider Opportunities Scheme (whole class ensemble tuition in school), then you can request a 10% discount on 30-minute paired or small group lessons during the year following wider opportunities.
Note: Lessons at music centres are currently 60p per lesson more expensive due to extra overheads at centres (venue hire and stewarding).
A family discount is available for siblings (50% off the second child) on ensemble membership.
Membership for bursary students is free for the first year with a 60% discount per term for subsequent years.

Find out more about music lessons for adults. Individual adult lessons can be 20, 30 or 40 minutes long and take place in the evenings and weekends at our music centres.

Group Keyboard lesson (60 mins – up to 10 in a group): £130 per term
Kingston Adult Wind Orchestra: £75.00 per term (5 sessions per term)
