Tell us what you think of the website
Welcome to your brand new Council website. This is a beta version, not yet live to residents. We'd love to know what you think.
Find charging sites for electric vehicles, including roads and council car parks, or suggest a location for a new vehicle charging point.
To help improve air quality and Londoners' health, tackle climate change and reduce congestion, all London boroughs up to (but not including) the M25 road are an Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).
This is a Transport for London (TfL) initiative and more information on ULEZ can be found on the TfL website. You can use the ULEZ map tool to view the boundary of the zone, and check which postcodes and roads are affected.
From 29 August 2023, the ULEZ expanded across all London boroughs, including Kingston.
If you drive a vehicle that doesn't meet the emissions standards inside the expanded ULEZ, you will incur a daily charge of £12.50. This includes residents of the ULEZ. However, you don't need to pay the ULEZ charge if you are parked inside the zone and don't drive.
The design and installation of the ULEZ expansion is a matter for TfL. Any queries related to ULEZ expansion need to be directed to TfL directly.
You can check if your vehicle meets the emission standards and find out about the Mayor of London and TfLs scrappage scheme.
Find out how the ULEZ expansion may impact you on the TfL website.
ULEZ is a Transport for London scheme - to get in contact with them you can:
Air pollution represents a significant threat to the health of our residents and those who work in the borough. It both contributes to instances of and exacerbates the symptoms of illnesses such as asthma, COPD and lung cancer.
Additionally, the impacts of poor air quality are disproportionately felt by the very young, the very old, the poor and those with preexisting health conditions. Ultimately though, everyone in our borough will be negatively impacted in some way by air pollution.
Travel impacts all of us and so it’s really important that the borough works collectively to move towards more sustainable transport methods wherever we can.
Through the delivery of our Climate Action Plan, we will encourage pedestrians and cyclists and promote sustainable travel for our residents, businesses and visitors, while freeing up space on our congested roads for people who really need to use cars with lower emissions.
