Find out more about the scheme to improve the main route linking Kingston to Kingston Vale and the A3.
Construction of the overall scheme was completed in the spring of 2021.
The main part of the route runs along London Road, Kingston Hill and Kingston Vale, on the A308 between Kingston town centre and the borough boundary with Wandsworth. Construction took place in sections between the autumn of 2018 and the spring of 2021. This involved the creation of new cycleways and upgrades to pedestrian/cycle crossings, islands, paving, footways, kerbs, junctions, crossovers, bus stops and traffic signals.
The ‘Quietway’ section completed in the spring of 2018 involved the creation of a route shared between vehicles and cyclists along Canbury Park Road, Queen Elizabeth Road and Gordon Road. Quietways are continuous and convenient cycle routes on less-busy backstreets across London, and suit people who want to cycle on lower-traffic streets.
