The Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (now known as the UK Resettlement Scheme) provides support and protection for refugees displaced by conflict, violence and persecution. Launched in January 2014, the scheme predominantly supports Syrian nationals and has helped those in greatest need, including people requiring urgent medical treatment, survivors of violence and torture, and women and children at risk.
Since 2016 Kingston has welcomed families under this scheme and provided support for them to settle and integrate into our borough.
We have exceeded our target to provide 50 individuals with a new home and santury in our borough.
