Kingston Safeguarding Adults Board (KSAB)

Information about how the board works to oversee the safeguarding of adults at risk of neglect or abuse in Kingston.

Subgroups of the KSAB

The board undertakes its work through various groups and working parties, known as sub groups.

Safeguarding Adults Review (SAR)

The Safeguarding Adults Review (SAR) Sub Group oversees the SAR process.

The sub group meets 6 times a year. It’s chaired by the Assistant Director of Adult Social Care and attended by Senior Officers from the 3 statutory partners.

The main function of the sub-group is to consider whether referrals sent to it meet the S.44 Criteria for a SAR.

Communication, Learning and Development

The Communication, Learning and Development Sub Group raises public awareness of safeguarding and how to act on concerns about abuse and neglect. It meets 4 times a year.

It’s chaired by a representative from the Integrated Care Board, and has attendees from:

  • Kingston Council’s Communications Team
  • Adult Social Care
  • Commissioning
  • Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust
  • Integrated Care Board
  • Kingston Voluntary Action
  • Kingston Healthwatch

Performance and Audit

The Performance and Audit Sub Group will meet 4 times a year. It monitors data to identify themes and trends.

This is a new sub-group that began meeting in the latter half of 2024 and meets 4 times per year.  

It has representatives from:

  • Adult Social Care
  • Your Healthcare
  • Achieving for Children
  • Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust
  • Integrated Care Board
